True and Tested

Isaiah 28:16: So this is what the Sovereign Lord says: "See, I lay a stone in Zion, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone for a sure foundation; the on who trusts will never be dismayed..."

Life Application Study Bible commentary states "If you're building anything , you need a firm base. Isaiah speaks of a foundation stone, a cornerstone, that will be laid in Zion. This cornerstone is the Messiah, the foundation on whom we build our lives. Is your life built on the flimsy base of your own successes or dreams? Or is it set on a firm foundation?"

This is a completely redirection of where I thought I was going with this passage but what just stood out to me is the description of the cornerstone, it is a "tested stone". James 1:2-4 says Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may mature and complete, not lacking anything. The word also says that ...we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are - yet was without sin.

Draw your own conclusions and let this scripture speak to you. However what just spoke to me is that we have a God that sent his Son, in the flesh, who was tempted and tested in every way, ways we can't even concieve, to shed his blood on the cross for us. This is who we build our foundation on, a TRUE and TESTED cornerstone.

New Age religions????? Just the "New" alone is scary. :)
